The North remembers

We are now 2 weeks into the New Year and I have emerged from my burrow, blinking into the light with trips across the country including so far this year Portsmouth, Uxbridge and Middlesbrough. I am also about to embark on a series of speaking engagements principally in the North of England (or at least, north of London).

They begin with a trip to the Birmingham Law Society on 30th January 2018 to deliver a paper on Costs Budgeting, with the paper being repeated for the York Law Society on 6th February 2018 and the Liverpool Law Society on 27th April 2018.

I am also attending the Costs Conference 2018 held by the Liverpool Law Society on 14th March 2018 in order to speak about retainers, clients, regulatory concerns and solicitor-own client costs disputes.

Finally I note that on 2nd March 2018, I shall be speaking at the Ropewalk Chambers Personal Injury Conference. As ever, I shall have the graveyard slot of 2pm, with a galaxy of costs talent from within chambers joining me to look at various issues including fixed costs and ATE premiums.
